I recently purchased a Bayline

I recently purchased a Bayliner Ciera 2150 with the OMC 5.0 (GM 305) I hooked the hose up to it and started it in the driveway and the boat ran great. It ran for about 15 minutes and the temp stayed at about 175. What I did notice was the lack of water coming back out through the outdrive. Shouldnt the water be pumping back out through the prop hub? Anyhow the engine never got too hot to touch or anything...just wondering if I may have some sort of water pump issue. Thanks

"You might have blocked risers

"You might have blocked risers or dislodged water shutters blocking the exit of cooling water. Overheating due to poor water flow usually only rears it's ugly head when the engine is under load. Idling on the trailer for 15 mins isn't a real meaningful test, it will stay cool with even marginal water circulation."

Well I finally had a chance to

Well I finally had a chance to get back to work ont this thing. First off I replaced the water pump impeller and now I am getting a healthy flow of water (I confirmed this by removing that small overflow tube on the waterpump housing)...but for some reason it still isnt making its way up to the thermostat housing. What else could be the cause of my presumed blockage...I see what looks like a power steering cooler???
Thanks!

"yep - that's what that is

"yep - that's what that is - try taking the hose off the other side of it.... take it off and look through it with a light etc... if the cooler was winterized, the drain plug will be out or the hose should be off of it...."

Thay changed the Ex Bellow aft

Thay changed the Ex Bellow after 1987. the new Bellow has cuts on bottom side. Tilt Stern Drive up and check to see if you have newer type. If so this will allow Ex and water to come out there and decrease water out prop.
