50 hp Merc shakes when trying to accelerate

"and won't pick up speed. Took it to the shop. Paid $1200 to rebuild carbs, change impeller and spark plugs. Still have the same problem. Shop said I had wrong prop. New prop, same problem. I have spark getting to all four spark plugs. Any ideas out there?"

I didn't test it myself but the shop said they brought in a Mercury tech and dyno'd it and found nothing wrong. One thing I noticed was that I had a chip in the cavitation plate. I jb welded it and filed down pretty close to perfect. Don't see ay cracks in the transom either.

I tried the timing light in the driveway and get fire on every wire. I haven't tried it on the water yet but will do that next. Will try squeezing the bulb too.

?are you trimmed allthe way down on take off what pitch is yourprop fuel could be an issue the carbs are seta special way byreading vacume with special tool not hard if youve done afew the right prop for load is important with 4 stroke

"not sure on the pitch but it is the stock prop that came on the rig (2000 bass tracker pt 175). I am trimmed all the way down on take off, if I raise up a little the shaking stops but I still can't gain any speed. Thanks for all the responses!"
