5.8 omc cobra short engine

Hello, does anybody know if the engine block on a 5.8 omc Cobra, is the same block as a 5.8 EFI Cobra? Or advise where I can buy a short block?

Most of the Ford 5.8's that found their way into the Marine world, were the Windsor version.
Pull your block casting number, and do an online search.


Also, the 5.0 and 5.8 cylinder heads are candidates for a quench effect chamber, similar to the SBC's.
IOW, no fully dished pistons.... or you'll loose the quench effect.
