5.7 cooling problem

I just bought a boat with 5.7 conected to Bravo 3 dual prop. Im somewhat of a novice with I/O's. This motor if im not mistaken doesn't have a lower unit water pump just the motor driven one on the front. I hooked up water hose to foot. Cranked motor. No water came out exhaust. thought maybe the thermostat was stuck. I took off all 4 hoses coming into therm housing. cranked motor. No water. Why would no water be coming to therm from presurized water from hose through foot???? what am I missing? Thanks for the help! Darrell

What about the pump that is driven bye the fan belt, should be located on the starboard side. Have one of them ?

I missed that! Thought that was a tensioner. Got it off and out.....and yep bad impeller. Thanks so much for the help!!

Your welcome ! Did the impeller break up if yes you now have o find the pieces, look for them in the heat exchanger, t-stat housing first but could be any hose coming off the fan run pump understand.

If the impeller did not break up your lucky.
