5.0 not going over 3200 rpms

I have a 2005 mercruiser 5.0. I need some help diagnosing this problem. The engine runs fine up to about 3200 rpms than it has no power will not go over 3200 rpms also at this time oil pressure shoots to about 75psi. When in neutral the same thing happens and the boat will start a beeping alarm at that time also. Any help I appreciate it. Thanks.
 
sounds like gaurdian is kicking in, get it scanned to find what code is kicking it into guardian mode. could be related to oil pressure as that is the gauge that is messing up but you could have other problems, water flow for instance that could be doing it.
 
running up to 3200 rpm in neutral proves nothing.

Under power is a different story.

What is this motor mpi, carb what ?

The oil sender install a tee with a mechanical gauge lets see what the oil pressure really is. you need to leave the oil sender on the other side of the tee to have the fuel pump work

used to have the same problem accompanied by some clicking while under power. i changed out both fuel pumps and problem solved.
