5.0 LX Acceleration Hesitation

I have a 1995 Chaparral with a 5.0 LX engine and Alpha outdrive. I have owned the boat since 1998 and since day one I have had a slight acceleration hesitation. At any RPM when I accelerate to wot quickly there is an initial hesitation. I have recently had the carburator rebuilt because of a rough idle and zero power above 3000 rpm and the mechanic thought the rebuild would fix the old acceleration hesitation issue also, but it did not. I need to get the mechanic to take another look, but I have not had the time so I plan on doing that this weekend. If anyone has experienced this issue and has any suggestions to fix that would be great.

choke plate all the way open ? Float height is correct ? If so maybe raise it a tad.

pump tank < after you clean the system and pump the tank, check the psi the fuel pump is giving. 4-7 no more no less.

Spark Plugs < read the plugs.

Timing is good ?

Anything else the motor is doing ? Maybe running a little hot ?

Valves too tight ? Just asking ?

Of all your questions I know that the choke and plugs are good. I'll look at some of these other items and see if it helps. Thanks

Does your carb have an adjustable accelerator pump lever? If so, which position is being used? Depending on the position used, the accelerator will deliver more or less fuel. If you have this lever, it's simple to change the arm's popsition and try it out.

I believe 1995 they used WEBER 4bbl carb.
On a carbed motor a off idle hesitation (assuming no motor mechanical issues)
Is typically a accelerator pump issue or a vacuum leak. Also make sure the timing is set propperly.

Ghost thinks clear as always.

Spray carb cleaner around the base of the carb while running. If it changes then you know you found your leak if there is one.
