I have a 5.0GXI. I'm getting a cylinder 5 & 8 misfire code and a cylinder 5 & 8catalyst damaging misfire code. This happens when the engine hits about 4500RPM, the engine kicks down to 3000 RPM, which-with the code is not surprising.The engine sure doesn't sound like its misfiring and the code is only whenunder load. I switched some ignition wires and it stayed with 5 & 8.checked all connections I could get to, no corrosion all clean.
I replaced the block 2 years ago and that started the problem. then had thedealer time the motor and the problem went away, 1st time out this year it cameback. Any insight would be appreciated.
