5.0/305 intake

Bought new to me formula F-18 and it has a rough idle. I found the problem when I plugged up the rusted hole in the intake. My epoxied patch has fixed the problem. Does anyone know of the negatives of putting an aluminum intake on t+

Ayuh,... It shouldn't be a problem in Denver,....

In Saltwater, it's a Big No-No,...

Even in lake or river water, dissimilar metals, such as an aluminum intake against cast iron cylinder heads, will eventually see Galvanic action!

Keep a close eye on it....... it may go for years.

Thanks for your advise I have the intake and it is free so I was hopping it would work.

One piece of advice,

Do not use the "Z" shaped end gaskets on the manifold.
Use a high quality silcone and make a 3/8" bead from head to head on the front and back surface.
This is specced out in the service manual also.
DO NOT use any coating on the sending unit threads as they act as a ground.
