48 hp johnson trim and tilt plug

I am having a hard time getting the bottom plug out of the trim and tilt its the plug on the rear of the t/t the large one beside what looks to be the manual lift mechanisam. It has a slot like a big screw but it is getting beat up pretty good. any ideas. Thank very much.
 
Post a picture of this plug.----------------Have you tried an impact screwdriver with a draglink socket ?----Just curious as to why you want to remove it ?
