"Ok, so i decided that i'm gonna make the swap over the winter. The chevy v-8 i have is a late 1970 to mid 80's motor.(2-piece rear seal) I want to replace the transom assembly also.(gimbal housing/outdrive etc.) I think i have the MR1 outdrive now.(1980) What will i need for the swap? Also the motor has a OMC freshwater cooling system on it, which from the looks of it should work, not 100% sure though."

"You should search out a trashed boat that has a complete v-8 Alpha One Gen II drive package. That will get you all the drive parts you need including transom assembly, 1.47 ratio drive leg, and the exhaust Y pipe.

You will need V-8 exhaust manifolds, risers, and elbows, which could come off the donor poackage.
You could swap over the other necessary parts to your engine and drop it in.

that would be the cheapest way

that would be the cheapest way like Rod said..also where are you located cause I would like to get the 470 from you pending its condition

I'm in N.J. I'll keep you in mind when i sell it. I just put a rem. carb on it, plus a new harmonic balancer/ new stator/ new rectifier/ new riser/ and a new fuel pump. Plus i have the aftermarket alt. conversion kit."
