Need an overhaul kit for 1986

Need an overhaul kit for 1986 170.( spun rod bearing) One advertised on ebay says P/N Guardian 1215-200 . Cant find applicability for this kit anywhere. He states comes with new cast iron oil pump. Mine is aluminum. Interchangeable? Also states steel piston rings. My Block is aluminum. Does anyone know if this kit will work for me?

yeesh. go get a short block and be done with it. Who knows what caused the spun bearing insert in the first place.

"Agreed. I've been through mine and have it in the shop for the 2nd time now. Started with fresh crank, rods and bearings. I think that w/the aluminum block, the line bore got screwed up the first time. This time when I pulled it and turned it upside down, I found 3 trashed rod bearings. It happened w/50+ psi oil pressure, below 180 degrees and hardly any run time on it. Very frustrating."

Anyhow, pull the crank and have it checked and measured."

"Better yet, dump the 4 banger and drop in a small block V-8 350! You'll have a much more reliable machine in the end, and more fun.
