"Alright guys, I need a little

"Alright guys, I need a little help. I have a 29' SunRunner that was originally equipped with a 350! Way underpowered. I am replacing it with a 1994 454 and Bravo will replace the Alpha. I am new to the Bravo and 454 stuff. Cooling is the first issue. Will I pull water from the bottom of the boat throughthe raw water pump do I block off the fitting on the outdrive? Second, I would love to convert over to fuel injected, how do I go about doing this, What intake will fit?"

"There are two different types

"There are two different types of water intakes.

Thru hull and thru outdrive.

Most of the bravo's I's have seen have thru outdrive.

On a large boat like I would call the boat manufacturer and see what they reccomend.

Also you may want to consider a Bravo II verses a I or III, The Bravo II uses a much larger prop diameter and will really make that boat perform better. Just my opinion.

As far as EFI vs Carb,

That is a personal choice, Carbs have been around for a long time with little issues. Efi conversion may be a bit pricy. If you choose this you would need either a donor motor from a removed or repowered senerio or price ALL the seperate components. Watch Cragslist or even post a add for this. Either way It will be $$$$$$

There are also some aftermarket bolt on EFI/ TBI type systems that are self adjusting."

"You changing over from a alph

"You changing over from a alpha to bravo then you need everything back from the flywheel.

The bravo has a engine mounted raw water impeller, and it pulls water thru the drive.

An i think a double prop such, as some bravos have will give you a whole different feel and is a desirable upgrade, depends on your pocket how light you want it to feel."

"You can go through the bottom

"You can go through the bottom with a high speed pick up for the cooling.

I have a complete Mercruiser 454 EFI system for $1,200.00 if you're interested.

PM me for more info."
