"I replaced the voltage regulator in my 72'Arabian last year because of a charging problem---had the Alternator rebuit also, still had a charging problem---found out it was the relay---now the alt. is putting out almost 17V @ 2500 rpm----obviously the regulator is not regulating---has anyone bought new and it be bad or do I have this thing hooked up wrong?"

"It never ends, does it! You need a new regulator. Better still, go to a one-wire alternator (that eliminates all the nonsense).

"I replaced the regulator and it's FIXED. This is what happened and FastJeff correct me if I'm wrong. When I replaced the Volt. Reg. and the relay still wasn't working, those volts had no where to go and fried the new regulator, so now with the new relay and new regulator that is why it's working------side note---I had a bad condenser, did it go bad because the regulator wasn't working and putting out 17v?
