"hello list,

i'm running a single 440 chrysler with a 2 to 1 reduction BW velvet drive. My hull is a 1958 , 35 foot seakiff modified work boat with an added on keel.
( not a cabin cruiser anymore) , just a deck boat with small forward cabin. it has a Walter keel cooler with dry exhaust set up.

I want to know what is a 440 max recommended RPM I should see at full trottle and what is a good cruise RPM range for this engine and trans.

thanks for any help

jerry Costa

Just trying to get my prop sorted out."

"Top rpm should be around 4400

"Top rpm should be around 4400 to 4800, but don't run it long over 3,500. That's a long stroke engine and the piston speed is high. A 3,000 rpm cruise speed would be ideal.

Jeff"

Thank You Jeff
I'll try

Thank You Jeff
I'll try for that 3000 rpm cruise.

i think the boats pitched too high right now with its 20 x 22 four blade.
looks like a 20 x 20 would be better.
