Last time I ran the boat I had

Last time I ran the boat I hadn't put stabil in the gas tank. I now want to put the boat away for winter and would like to drain the gas out of the carb bowl. Can I remove the fuel filter canister from the electric fuel pump and run the engine till it dies or will this ruin the fuel pump?

1. Put Sta-Bil or Star-Tron in

1. Put Sta-Bil or Star-Tron in tank that's full.

2. Run engine until fully warmed up.

3. After winterization procedure is done (drained water out and run pink stuff thru motor) put boat away for winter.

Done.
