JUST PUT A BRAND NEW JASPER 4.

JUST PUT A BRAND NEW JASPER 4.3 AND TOOK IT TO THE RIVER YESTERDAY. AT FULL THROTTLE IT POPS BACK THROUGH THE CARB. BUT RUNS FINE WITH IT NOT IN GEAR WHEN REVING IT UP. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

"I'd run through valve las

"I'd run through valve lash adjustments again. On my V6, or even my Chevelle's 350 I always set the valves using a compression gauge. I never could get the feel for that rolling the pushrod between your fingers deal. If someone uses a slippery moly assembly lube, you can roll the pushrods with the stupid valve half open. I crank the engine on the starter, tighten the valve till the compression drops, then loosen it until there's lash (clicking), then split the difference. "

"Ayuh,....

Change the Fuel Filter,....Check the Fuel Pressure to the Carb....
If that don't work,... Rebuild the Carb....
