40HP Mercury 2 stroke - how long before starts peeing

Hi guys

1996 Mercury 40HP 2 stroke 4 cylinder - how long should it take before water starts flowing out the pee hole after cold start up with hose pipe connected to flush muffs?

I have a 40 merc 1993 2 stroke, takes like few minutes some times?
It will start pumping on idle. i wouldnt put it in drive until it starts.

Most motors pee right away.----A 1996 motor needs a new impeller if you do not know the age / condition of the impeller.
