" Ok guys... We are getting close but she is still not running 100%... I replaced the reed valves Friday night and went to the lake yesterday and she would idle and rev up out of gear... but when I put it in gear still no power... I desided that I would take the carbs back off and look at them again... they were a little dirty but nothing that seems like It would be hurting power... My question is... are the these carbs adjustable?

I also know that this engine is only running on one carb because going down the lake yesterday... I took the engine cover off and put my hand over the bottom carb and no change on RPM...but when I put it over the top carb the engine wanted to shut off. I could literlly close off the bottom carb... It would pull a signicant vacume and when I took my hand off it would try to run faster but only for a seccond....HELP!

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Trey Forrest "

" My bet is that you have a plugged hi-speed jet on the lower carb. Holding your hand over the intake caused slight amount of fuel to be pulled into the engine and removing it momentarily gave it the air it needed. Yes the carb idle mixture is adjustable. Hi-speed is not unless you change the jets. This is not recommended since the engine ran ok with them before. You should take the carb apart again, and run a fine wire through the jet and passages to ensure they are open. Otherwise, a needle and seat that is stuck closed will prevent fuel from filling the float bowl. If there is fuel in the bowl when you disassemble the carb, this is likely not the problem but the high speed jet is! Good luck. "
