Hello,
Been having issues with my 92 40 HP Mariner 4 Cyl. Motor doesn't want to idle. I cleaned the carbs multiple times the past year I have been having issues. I can get it started only with the throttle wide open. I was able to get it to idle by adjusting the idle mixture screws and the idle RPM speed screw.
The last time I put it in the water it ran fine for 30 min and then would not stay running at idle. The gas tank was half full (Pontoon 6 gal. tank) when it started acting up. After the fact I thought it might be related. Could it be a fuel pump issue because it cant pull enough fuel when the tank is lower? I did rebuild the diaphragm pump 2 years ago. Engine compression was 120 on each cylinder when I checked last year.
I'm out of ideas, as soon as I think I make progress I have issues. Any help is very appreciated.
