take for instance i bought a parts eng for $150 knowing it was torn apart.

i came out pretty good if you consider the cost of electrical parts..........not to mention all the rest of the goodies.........the one i bought was a '79 johnson 115----came with everything including the control box..........i maybe could have haggled but i needed a tnt unit since mine had developed an internal leak over the summer and since i know the cost of replacing it i didnt feel too bad about my purchase.

if its running it will bring more than not running........i would put it on craigs list, ebay, and any other marketable place......"

before you buy it run compression and spark tests.....also check the lower unit for water contamination........these are the most important (and expensive)."

mine was from 1968 and was

mine was from 1968 and was being used up till 5 yrs ago it came on a boat ..pistons are unavailable and some needle s etc but urs being from the 70's might be able to still get parts
