"Anyone had any joy/sorrow using speedi-sleeve ( thin s/s sleeve from SKF) to correct imperfection/groove from old oil seal on driveshaft below water pump?

I have used them for years. I did a merc stern drive propshaft for my salt water fisher 8 years ago. Still no leaks in that one.
I was talking with an older OMC parts guy from New Orlenes this winter... He said he never heard of them.
I don't see them advertised in the marine markets.
Make sure the shaft is sanded good with no burrs. You don't want to scratch the inside while you are installing. I add cylinder loctite to the inside of the sleeve and on the shaft.
The supplied install tool is too short for lower unit repairs. You will need a piece of tubing. Good Luck.
