I want change the shaft seals and any other parts that look worn (the Anode housing looks deteriorated) as water is getting into my lower unit oil.
What is the process to get the item # 25 bearing housing out of the lower unit? I the following parts off already: Prop, thrust bushing, anode housing and retainer plates.
Does the bearing housing thread out how is it held/positioned in the lower unit housing?
Thanks much for any and all help.

???---Rw-----That bearing housing is held in by 2 tabs.----And the poster says he has the tabs in his hands !!!-----Those gearcases are NOT robust ion my opinion and others.----Best to take it all apart for inspection and replace pinion bearing and the 2 bearings on the forward gear.
