40 hp 4 stroke yamaha will not stay running

"Broke out the Dinghy motor an

"Broke out the Dinghy motor and it hasn't run in about 7 months. Turns over and tries to run and changed plugs and cleaned carbs and fuel pump and lines and they seemed to be clean. Ran engine dry after last running. Will start and runs eratic and if spray a little starting fluid will run but still ruff. Replaced filters and fittings on fuel lines and and bulb. Using fresh gas in different tank instead of dinghy built in tank but cannot get it to continue to stay running. Has thermal electric choke with yellow wires and wandering if that could be the problem. Any ideas before i take it into a shop. I have a manuel and everything and normally can fix most mechanical problems but stumped. Thanks Semper Fi<font color=""119911""><font face=""arial,helvetica""></font></font>"

"Might try spraying starter fluid around to see if you got a vacuum leak. Otherwise, Does it have low pressure fuel pums?"

"yes it will run on starting fluid sprayed into air tubes but it still runs eratic,cleaned fuel pump but havent checked pressure yet."

Thanks all for the info and I just finished taking them all apart and cleaning out all jets and orfices and checking out all the jets and cleaning and air pressured it all and put it back together and walla runs like a champ... I should of been more thorough the first time cleaning them.. Ciao and Semper Fi
