"how can i tell exactaly what engine i have it says volvo on the top but there are no other numbers other that the valve specs, the outdrive is a 270 just need to know so i can buy parts thanks"

Or just look on the bellhousin

Or just look on the bellhousing/ above the starter motor. Should say exactly which model it is

thanks i found out that i have a 125a not sure if that is good or bad yet although i do have a couple questions for you guys. i have a omc 3.0 also and it dosn't have the resivoir tank on it that the volvo has this may be a dumb question but do i supossed to fill that with coolant? or water or should it fill itself when in the water thanks for taking time to explain to my dumb butt
 
yes fill 50/50 coolant/water.

yes fill 50/50 coolant/water. There are two systems fresh and raw water... That tank is for the fresh water system which will remain full once you fill it. The raw water will be pumped from the outside water and used to cool the fresh water coolant

"You dont fill the tank with the strainer, that is a chamber that the water from the outside passes through. It passes through a pipe that runs through your other tank and cools the tank.
It then passes through your exhaust manifold and expels through your leg and through one or two outlets on the transom.
