My Merc 2012 4 strokes 60hp has 2 coils with double output (top coil for cylinder #2 and # 3) (bottom coil for #1 and # 4).
Firing order 1-3-4-2.
Before 2005 those engine had 4 coils, one per cylinder, easy to understand.
Can a pros explain me and other the reason of this design improvement and the basic functioning.
With the double output coil are we entering the concept of ''lost spark''????
The double output coil is it producing energy simultaneously to 2 cylinders ????
I am new on mechanic, so tolerance is appreciate  Thank you.
