4 blade prop question

I fubar'd my prop the other day on some rocks. When I went to by a new at the local dealer they had some 4 blade's they are trying to get rid of for a little less then the oem 3 blade. I have 50hp johnson that has the standard oem 12-1/4 x 15. The 4 blades they had were 11-1/2 x 9 and 11-1/2 x 10.

Would the 4 blade's benifit me in any way. I mainly use it for fishing. But have 5 year old twins who I plan to start pulling on a tube and someday ski's. The oem prop seamed to work pretty good all around.

Does dropping 5" in the pitch seam alot for adding one blade.

If 15 " gave you the correct RPM on your boat, ------Then don't even think about using one of those props.--------Not enuff pitch means lots of RPM and over speed on your engine.--------------Tell these guys to find another buyer / sucker.

The general purpose of a 4 blade propeller is to increase the thrust, getting out of the hole. If the top end rpm of your present propeller is satisfactory BUT you have a problem in the initial thrust... pulling up skiers, getting up on plane, etc, then the four blade could be beneficial for you.
