4.3L mercruiser Ignition system

I bought a generic Manual that works for multiple year engines. In it it tells you about 2 different systems- the thunderbird ignition system and what i assume is the basic ignition system. How do you find out which system you have? Is there a way to find out which spark plug wires you need to buy to give the engine a tuneup? and lastly is there a way to find part numbers to all these things including distributor caps? Thanks

Use "Boat Engine Parts" above...follow the direction...stick w/Mercury branded parts and you won't be sorry. For exhaust manifold parts you can get great quality from Osco and Barr brand names. GLM and Sierra parts are made in China...they look good but lack the precision and quality control in manfacturing.
