4.3 stalling after acceleratioon then starts right up with no issue

i have a 1998 4.3 with a two barrel carb on it , my issue is after running at speed for any amount of time the engine will stall when i go to idle down.
this gets very frustraitng when coming in to a dock or trying to pick up crab traps
i can be running it for 30 mins at 3400 rpm or just acceleratefor five seconds and it will stall when i go to idle, i give the shifter a pump or two put it back in neutral and it idles purfect
i have changed the fuel filter, its a brand new fuel pump and has good flow, i,vetaken the carb apart and no issue there
the shift interrupter switch is not the culprit as it sound like it runs of of fuel when i go to idle
good plugs, new cap and rotor
i,ve screwed around with the timing and the idle screw on the carb, deadvanicng the timing seems to help a little but then it becomes hard to start
this engine only has 160 hours on it and i am at wits end now
 
My only thought is check for a small vacuum leak at the intake area...as the engine heats up the leak gets bigger.
 
You took the Carb apart, but, did you clean it? Many small passages in these Carbs. Thats why we soak them and clean out all the passages either with air or wire reams. My tool box even has accupuncture needles for this purpose. Al W.
