4.3 Engine Removal

Ok so I got my 4.3 all disconnected and ready to yank, just one thing holding me, on the bellhousing, should I leave it on and just remove , I think only 2 bolts on either side of bellhousing going down towards the stringer or remove bellhousing to block bolts and leave bellhousing intact, my shop manual is useless as far as this goes.
 
Leave the bellhousing on!!

There are two bolts that have to be removed from the bellhousing to transom mount.

The outdrive must also be removed!!

They require a 3/4 inch socket.


Be very careful whe removing them, there are some small parts, a spring washer and flat washer and the order in which they are installed should be noted.

The transom assembly captures the Nylar nuts for the two bolts so you should be able to unscrew completely and the nuts will fall.....The bolts are ~ 6-7 inch 1/2 -20 thread (fine thread) If I remember correctly
 
Ayuh,... Like Kghost says, pull the Drive, the 4 lag bolts outa the front mounts, 'n the 2 at the transom, then lift, straight up, 'n out...
