the engine is quite hard to start , coughs and splutters alot , when started will rev up fine and tickover good , once gear engaged cant acclerate without hesitation , give it full throttle and dies ... then struggle like hell to start again , ive eliminated bad fuel , has good spark , all filters seem good , the plugs dont seem wet after trying to start , anyone come across these symptons ?

It could be your engine driven fuel pump. I believe they are two-staged. A low side and high side. A few of my fellow boaters have had this problem and needed fuel pump.

check the fuel pressure? vent line for obstruction? fully open shutoff valve?

May wanna try the outboard tank, temporarily plumbed to the pump inlet, to eliminate any issue with your fuel supply system.

You also wanna check the timing advance function.

Choke sounds out of adjustment and the accellerator pump sounds worn out. I would rebuild the carb.
