3hp 1998 evinrude water pump?

My motor starts right up runs great for half hour than shuts off will start shut right off. wait while same thing.. The streamfrom tell hole is weak water coming out feels pretty warm... would the water pump cause it to over heat and shut off?
thanks for any help...planning on replacing pump if can find part

It sounds as though it might be overheating

Look for any paint discoloration and check if any water splashed onto the power head sizzle and boils off immediately

You should be able to touch and maintain brief finger contact with any part of the powerhead, except perhaps around the spark plug.

Water pump impeller replacement is very simple on engines with fixed drive ( no neutral) and pump immediately behind prop

Check for spark when it stalls. Heat can affect electronic components too, you might be loosing spark.

Starts right upone pull even after warmedupust shuts right off. i gona replace the impeller. hopefully that fix it the stream is weak.. just hoping not 2 seprate problems.. thanks for your help
