350 mercuriser exhaust question

I just had a few questions on headers for a ski boat, yeah I know it’s probably out of the ordinary, but I thought I’d ask. I have a 2008 Sanger v-drive wakeboard boat and its running the chevy 350 black scorpion motor, I blew out a gasket so I’m changing all of the exhaust gaskets on the manifolds and elbows at this moment, so while I had them off I was wondering if it would be ok to install a pair of headers on a bone stock motor, I wasn’t sure if you needed to be at a certain HP to run tubular headers...would anybody know if that would be ok? I wasnt sure if that would throw off all of the electronics and mapping?

I never heard or known anybody to do this, so that’s why im here to see if anybody has done it or if maybe a professional can chime in and help with the question? If anybody can please let me know some detail on this I would kindly appreciate it. If you have any suggestions in mind, please I would love to know I’m pretty interested in doing this project on my boat, thats if its all possable.

Thank you,

Dan

Lots of money, lots of time, lots of headache. The gains will not be worth the effort or money
Definitely agree with ^^^^^^^^

I'm not sure if anyone has done it or not, But if you're still wanting to try it then you could try asking the guys over at team mastercraft forums, They may have tried it by now.

Since you have a newer sanger, you probably are on the west cost someplace? If so you could check out lightning headers in LAKE ELSINORE, CA to see if they can help. These headers work really well in the sterndrive world, Maybe they have done something for your set up by now, I'm not sure.

Well good luck to your idea.:)
