35 hp merc starter problems

86 merc 35 not sure where shor

86 merc 35 not sure where short pos & neg wires go from the main harness. i know the long ones go to the battery. also there is a black wire coming off the starter solenoid attached with the yellow wire leading to the starter(circled in red) the black one is not attached to anything not sure where it goes. also there is another black wire that is not attached to anything on one end the other end is attached to a bolt on the side of the starter solenoid (long red circled one) looks like a ground but i don't know where to hook it up to and did not want to mess anything up any help would be great thanks Eric Sorry i cannot get the picture under the 50 k file size minimum i can email the pic to anyone who can help me thanks again greatly Eric

"large yellow to starter solin

"large yellow to starter solinoid, large black on starter to engine ground-left of starter, small red to fuse above starter, black/yellow small to powerpack on top of motor. hope that helps its from memory of my 40hp"
