Mercury Canada says that they are unable to determine my motor year by serial number. They think it may be an 87 or 88. So, the push to choke on the side mount control box (no trim) does not engage the choke. I've metered the solenoid and there is not 12 volts once the key is pressed in. Is there anything else in line with the solenoid and the key press to choke besides the 8 pin electrical connector? If not, I would like to know which pins on the key switch are responsible for powering the solenoid.
Also, does someone have a picture of the manual choke linkage to the carburetor solenoid plunger? My manual choke lever does not stay engaged and I'm wondering if I have the linkage set up right.
I would really appreciate any help!
Thanks in advance!
