"I have twin 318-m motors one of the manifolds has a crack I,am looking for a good used manifold casting # E5799M
Or has anyone heard or tried line boring and inserting a stainless steel tube for a fix."

"Where's the crack? If yo

"Where's the crack? If you can get at it possibly it can be brazed... which would be a "band-aid" fix at best but might get you back in business for a time. You might be able to find a good used one at a local boat yard that works on engines. Maybe put an ad in www.craigslist.com."

"Thank you jimct, the crack is

"Thank you jimct, the crack is unreachable with out pulling the manifold apart then brazing the crack and brazing your way out again the last of my options.
I still lean toward sleaving the exaught tube my thoughts are in the proper material to use stainless I think may expand faster than cast iron, maybe monal tubeing may be the right choice or better choice."

"save your self a lot of heada

"save your self a lot of headaches & just pick up a new manifold, lots of aftermarket dealers , check out hurrikain.com ( thats the right spelling), should be able to get you fixed up for $200 or so"

What Barry was looking for is

What Barry was looking for is a manifold for the early M318 which is also known as a poly motor. Mighty tough to find those anymore. I do see them listed every once in a while on ebay but seems to be fewer and farther apart. Barry you could change to LM 318's.. it would be costly but you wouldn't have parts issues anymore.
Or I have a friend in Australia who makes stainless Steel manifolds. he might be able to make a pair custom for you? ( they are $$$ like 1900 a set ) We sell them to the commercial fisherman who are replacing manifolds every few years.

Barry I knew of a set of M318 manifolds but can't remember now who had them. If your still looking throw me a email or drop a line here and I will followup on these on Monday morning.

I have a 318 m from the mid sixties and know where there is another if this is what you are looking for.

They had several different manifolds.

Post a pic and I'll see if I have got a match.
