Can anyone tell me the differe

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Chrysler 318L and a 318M? Is the 318M a newer version of the 318? Thank you!

"Never heard of a 318L. The LA

"Never heard of a 318L. The LA318 is a new (and completely different) version of the old 318M. The LA stands for Lite Automotive. Then there is the LM318 which is a LA318 that has been marinized. (Brass freeze plugs, captured fuel punp, sealed distributor etc.).
Then there is the LM318A which is the two barrel version of the LA318 and there is a LM318B which is the 4 barrell version.
More LA318's were made than any other engine in history!
A chyrsler "B" engine is something completly different starting at 440 cu.in"
