318 removal

"I have a 1972 luhrs with twin

"I have a 1972 luhrs with twin 318's hooked to paragon pv-32's and need to replace my starboard motor (planing on a long block) my question , what will I need to do to the v-drive do I need to remove it or can I leave it in the same spot?also on my port motor I need to pull the prop shaft and have it straighten and would like any info I can get,thanks"

"I have a Uniflite with 360 Chrysler, which are identical to 318's, and they have V=drive setup. when i pulled my motor we had to detach the shaft and secure it.

is the boat in a slip? or are you hauling it out to have the work done."

"not sure how the Luhrs is laid out,but, on my Uniflite you just pulled the props and the shaft can be removed.

probably want to do the cutlass bearings too if the shaft is not aligned.

on mine we could just detach the shaft, disconnect wires,fuel, motor mounts and pull the entire thing.
