I have a trip comming up in a couple of weeks and I built a 14 foot Skiff to run the White River in Arkansas with. I am having some serious plaining issues. I always thought it was a prop issue but now I'm not so sure. I have tried 6 different props and only one will get me on plain with one passenger in the boat but not very well. The biggest problem I have is that at about 4900 RPMs it seems like I'm hitting a rev limiter and the motor keeps missing keeping me from gaining any more RPMs. I have added a hydrofoil to see if that helps but still having issues. Other than propeller is there anything else that I am missing that is keeping me from being able to get this boat up on plain? I have a hard time believing that 30hp is not enough. it is also the max HP for this particular boat. I'm running out of time and options so any input would be much appreciated. Thank you.
