30hp Johnson Wont Start

So I decided to rebuild my pontoon that's been sitting for a few years. Only thing that's wrong is i cant get the engine to stay running. It will turn over and start (sometimes) but then die right away, it sure seems like it wants to start. I replaced the spark plugs and got new gas for it. Maybe the carb is gunked up? Only problem is i cant locate the carb on it for the life of me. Any ideas what could be wrong so I don't have to take it in.

Also another note about 2 years ago it worked fine and i took it out on the river a lot.
 
Pull down and clean the carb!! Only problem if electric start is that you have to remove the starter bracket to access the port side nut holding it.
 
Remove the bracket with starter attached. If you try just to remove the starter, it will come out in pieces and you will never get it back again!!!
 
Yes but its for accessing one nut that holds the carb on.The carb is on the front of the motor,there may be a air silencer hiding it.Big plastic thing on the front
 
Starter bracket should have one bolt in front above the carb,One bolt in back the starter down towards the bottom of the starter,one bolt on the side of the mount towards the top.You may need to remove the two screws that hold the bearing clamp on the control lever.Yes two bolts on the carb.three bolts on the starter bracket and two screws
