30hp Johnson idling high NEED HELP!

Just recently I had to change the throttle grip on my motor. After that my motor started not throttling right. I had to manually push a piece on the motor for it to idle. Not sure why. Can someone help?

Having the handle grip off, the throttle shaft and gear may have slipped out of line with the mating gear... check it.

I believe it's a 87
