"I have a 87 3.0 omc i/o that is junk. Will a '90 3.0 merc bolt in? This is new to me, so I appreciate any help. There is a merc for sale near me resonable, but I want to know before I own it. Thanks"

90 is the year the crankshaft

90 is the year the crankshaft changed to have a 1 pc rear main seal on the 3.0 (unlike the V6 and V8 motors which changed a few years earlier) so I would have a good look at that- flywheel and couplers might be different between an 87 and a 90
