30 HP Big Twin electric start kits

I have a 1956 Big Twin 30 horsepower Evinrude outboard motor that runs well when I have big, strong boys to pull the cord. I'm now almost 79 years old and pulling the starter cord for this motor is hard for me.

Does anyone know of an electric starter kit for this Evinrude motor? This motor is mounted on a boat my dad and I built in 1954 while I was in high school. Boat and motor work great, but I'm looking for an easier start for the 30 HP motor.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

The 1956 manual start 30 did not have a flywheel with a ring gear for an electric starter. Sure, you can change it to the correct one, but along with a starter and bracket and solenoid and cables, etc, etc, it starts to get to be quite a project. It can be done, though. BTW, the '56 had a 6 volt system. 1957-up (35hp) were 12V. The 12V will fit your motor, if you use the correct bracket to go with it.

I converted over a 1958 35 hp Big Twin to electric start. It took some searching to find the parts, but it was well worth it.
