"have 3 boats in middle east all 3.0ltr. all blow head gaskets at about 100hours. we replace and use again, and same happens. 100hrs and pop the gaskets go. heads are ok and flat just the things pop out of the engine on the intake side. any one know of a similar fault? or any ideas to fix?"

Many thanks. We follow the set

Many thanks. We follow the settings but have not changed the timing. Will try that as it gets a bit upsetting changing gaskets 3-4 times a year.

"so maybe a little more info please. It overheating?

If yes the head gasket blowing is a symptom of maybe not enough water is getting to the motor.

Or the water is being restricted from leaving the motor. Say a flapper / shutter blocking the exhaust?

Want to know what i would do?

Pull the long hose going into the t-stat housing, that comes out the transom, but make sure you have water going to the drive.

Start the boat and hold the hose up, you have water shooting say 10" up. Yes?

Then you have good water to the t-stat. The t-stat frozen closed? Yes, then pull it and ether leave it out or replace. Me i would leave it out.

Say you have good water going thru the t-stat, your riser clogged up? How old is the riser?

Used in saltwater this boat, then 6-7 years tops they need to be replaced. Say you do pull the riser, it's good look down in the pipe see the flapper / shutter it there? Or did it fall down and get lodged in the exhaust small arm inserted into the pipe maybe you can fish it out.

So how hot does this boat run?

When was the last time the impeller was changed?"

First one blew at 48 hours and

First one blew at 48 hours and four months old. Second is 2006 with pump changed every year now has 404 hours with 5 new gaskets. Third boat is 2007 with 355 hours n three gaskets. Water temp is up to 34 deg during summer n air temp 44+ all v6 andv8 engines ok just the 4cyl. We don't run them hard due to the problems. All seem to have no overheating but do run warm during summer. No thermostat and are fresh water flushed after use

just for giggles what compress

just for giggles what compression do these motors have?

The temp the boat gauge has for the motors read what in farinheit?

Just a few thoughts I'm go

Just a few thoughts I'm gonna spew out:

Good quality gasket?
Are you sure the head is straight?
Did a machine shop check it?
Maybe needs to be milled?

Bad torque wrench? Not getting bolts tight enough?
Too much grease on head bolts?
Head bolts stretching?

Sounds like they have a fleet

Sounds like they have a fleet of boats and have had problems with 3 boats with 3 ltr motors that keep blowing head gskts so it has to be something that is affecting only those motors.

that right all the 3ltr in the

that right all the 3ltr in the middle east seem to blow gaskets. there are 5 owned by customers here and 3 of them suffer the same problems. if any one has any idea for a cure.

"Do you know the engine serial numbers???

You might want to look in this link for some extra ideas, Even though this link does not cover your engine serial number it's just an idea is all. Also both Ayleeuss and bt_doctur had some really good ideas here, You might want to try all NEW parts and tools like Ayleeuss suggested.

Please do not take this the wrong way But is it the same techs that keeps working on all these boats? Someone may be over looking something some where."

Thanks for the link. this is e

Thanks for the link. this is exactly the problem and i checked all three boats and they are at 1deg btdc now all 1dec atdc lets see if it cures the problem.
