3 liter timing problem

The shift interuptor puts the timing into base mode when the switch is depressed.

Because it SHOULD only be depressed momentarily as you are shifting FROM GEAR INTO NEUTRAL the retarded timing slows the engine to decrease the drag on the shift clutch allowing it shift easily. When it shifts into neutral the fork should center itself so the switch is centered in the bottom of the V and not be depressed.

Shifting into gear should not cause the fork to actuate unless the lower cable is faulty or either cable is improperly adjusted.

Cable adjustment is a "push you - pull me" circle jerk of sorts & frequently misunderstood.

But that doesn't explain why the timing goes to 2 degrees ATDC when the jumper is removed and the shift interruptor is reconnected. The manual says it should go to 6-8 degrees BTDC and stay there at idle. Not go down to 2 degrees ATDC at 450rpm. That's my problem.
yes when out of base mode I would think it should me more than 2. If you have another module try it you should only be seeing 13 or so degrees of advance as rpm goes up not 25.

Did see one poster on another forum where he got one or two bad modules, but I think they were not oem delco ones
