3.0L Mercruiser - No Forward or Reverse

Just put boat in water. In fall topped off all fluids, greased all items, and stored for winter. This passed weekend changed oil, filter. Started up beautifully.

Went to go into reverse and/or forward and would not move. Any help? Is there transmission fluid somewhere that we may have missed? Or could something be disconnected?

Ayuh,... Drain the drive oil, 'n look for water or metal,...

Pull the drive, 'n See what's up...

Thanks for the response. The boat is with my brother up north. He is presently trying to readjust the shift cable. I will pass your information on to him.

Look at the engine coupler and see if the drive shaft on the OD is spinning...if it isn't the coupler is shot.
