Hi all.

I am just about to replace my steering helmet on my volo 290,i have 2 bushes 1 v ring and a spacer,i notice that on the steering fork shaft their are 2 recesses can anyone tell me if these need a seal or some sort,i cannot see them in a diagram.

They did not come with the helmet,i had to order a kit.
I dont want to put the leg back on and find out that their should of been to rubber seals...

any advise on this please.

regards neil

I think you are 100% correct..just looked at my new one and sure enough it has holes to allow the grease to get onto the shaft....

my first post on here and its been solved thanks to yourself.

regards neil

The radial grooves are part of the grease porting.

Use a hose clamp and clamp a piece of rubber over one of the ports.
Pump grease in via the Zirk Fitting unitl you free the opposite port.
Move the clamp to the now open and free port........, repeat the process.

This ensures that both ports are free and are not plugged up.
(old grease can become sticky and gummy)
