290 dp bellows

I just bought 1997 holiday mansion house boat
with 7.4 gm motor and 290 DP outdrive.
One of the drives is missing. My question is can I plug the exhaust and drive bellows with a rubber Fernco cap that are used in plumbing so I can stay on the boat this year? I don’t want to sink LOL

Need more complete info.

The Volvo Penta 290 was no longer available as a production unit in 1997.
In 1997, this boat would have been equipped with a DP-S (or a version of the DP-S).

................. 290 is of "main suspension fork/pivot tube" geometry.
................. DP-S is of "Gimbal Suspension" geometry.


As for your question...... I would ask your insurance company if they would see the use of a Fernco cap as being a correct repair!
My guess is.......NO !
