260 V8 Stalls out at full throttle

I have a 1989 Chaparral sx 2150 that is stalling out at full throttle. Winterized last season with no problems. This spring when i got it out and summarized, i have come across this issue. When idling, motor runs fine. I have plenty of power to plane out, but once planed out and going full throttle for several seconds the boat shuts down. My first thought was loose battery cables because it almost acted like they were unplugged. No spitting or sputtering when it died, just stalls right out. The first time i could turn over the key and get it running again, but the second time we planed out and it died on me, i had to wait several minuets as if it acted like the motor flooded. If anyone has and thoughts or ideas that may help me get this issue solved would be much appreciated. Thanks !

Check the main engine electrical plug for tightness. Look at the key switch...may be a loose or corroded wire. Is there a kill switch? Verify it is working. Make sure the shift interrupt switch is working properly. Check for a loose coil HV wire to the dist. Is it a points ign.? Look at the condenser; it may be shorting out. If it is a Thunderbolt IV ignition look under the rotor to see if the optic trigger is rusted...it will act up for a while then flat out quit and never start. It has fine wires under it that corrode. Pull/tug all ignition related wires...may be a loose one.

I had a cracked battery cable head once...drove me nuts until I found it.

Is it carbureted w/a mechanical fuel pump? Look at the carb when it is idling and see if there is fuel in the plastic hose between the pump and air horn on the carb. When the engine revs up the pump would deliver a lot of fuel and dump it into the top of the carb via the plastic hose and flood it.

Hey i appreciate the advice guys. Sorry i have not left any feedback yet, unfortunately i had to work this weekend. Which means i have not had any time to get the boat out of the barn and play around with some of these suggestions. As soon as i get a chance i will look into these issues and i will let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks again !
