"As stated previously, I have a 2000- DF 25 hp suzuki 4 stroke. I have performed regular maintenance 2 times every year since it was new.. I have fished every week of the year at least 1-2 times per week so my motor never sits idle for long periods of time. 2 weeks ago with no warning, upon acceleration or throttle up, the motor bogged down as if I was overweight. I had no initial power. After a few minutes it seemed to run a little better at about 3/4 speed but not full throttle. I replaced the plugs first thinking maybe I had some issues there. I went to the lake again, same story. When throttling up no power. After a few minutes it seems to get back to 3/4 throttle but never full throttle. This time I replaced the fuel tank, fittings, fuel lines, ran cleaner through the carbs, and replaced the fuel with some sea foam added. Same story, third verse. I even tried to choke the motor while it was running and it stalled the motor. I spoke to some friends that know boat motors and they suggested maybe my coil was bad or maybe my carbs are clogged. Is a carb job needed? Coil? Fuel pump? Is there any way to check the carbs, fuel pump, or coil for proper workings without disassembling? I am open to any troubleshooting methods before I start replacing anything else. I do know my way around a boat motor and will replace what is needed myself if I can."
