When going to full throttle I

When going to full throttle I am only getting 1600 rpm out of the motor and top end speed of only 6-7 mph. Help!

do a compression test and a spark check! It sounds like a common " running on one cylinder " problem.Also check to see if the carburetor is flooding. Has the motor been sitting for a long time as in 2-3 years??

It hasn't been sitting at all. It starts and idles fine. It just won't accelerate.
